Historic Commission Awards Grants
Posted 10 March 2009
The Linn County Historic
Preservation Commission announces it has awarded four grants to
non-profit organizations in Linn County. The money will help the
organizations preserve or restore historical artifacts damaged by the
Floods of 2008.
The following organizations received grants from the Linn County
Historic Preservation Commission:
African American Museum of Iowa $960
Cedar Rapids Museum of Art $977
Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation $1,000
National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library $1,000
The Commission says funding limitations capped grant requests at $1,000.
"The Linn County Historic Preservation Commission has a limited budget,
but they wanted to offer what assistance they could to help preserve
pieces of Linn County history that were damaged in the flood," said Joi
Bergman, Linn County Grants and Communications Manager.
