Become Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor
Posted 5 February 2009
Red CrossEach year, the American Red Cross teaches lifesaving skills to nearly 12 million people. But we don't do it alone. It's possible only through the help of caring people in our community. People who care about the safety and lives of others, and are willing to devote a little bit of their time to help us make the world a safer place.

This winter, we'd like to encourage you to consider becoming an American Red Cross instructor at the Grant Wood Area Chapter. It's a great way to meet others and give back to your community. Most importantly you'll feel good about yourself, knowing that you are helping to create a safer, healthier world.

We offer flexible schedules and diverse teaching opportunities. Instructors may choose to teach a variety of courses. We have an upcoming Instructor Training course in February:

Lay Responder First Aid & CPR/AED Instructor Training

Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Participants must attend both sessions. Cost is $130. Classes will take place at the Grant Wood Area Chapter, 6300 Rockwell Dr NE, Cedar Rapids.

If this sounds like the opportunity you've been looking for, call the Grant Wood Area Chapter at (319) 393-3500 to reserve your spot today.

The American Red Cross Grant Wood Area Chapter serves the residents of Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Delaware, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn and Washington Counties.

Last year, more than 600 chapter volunteers helped train 21,634 Eastern Iowans in the lifesaving skills of CPR, first aid, water safety and others; provided relief to 399 adults and children devastated by a local disaster; collected 7,000 units of blood for hospital patients; and provided direct assistance to 70 individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
