Accident Leaves Anamosa Woman Dead Posted 13 July 2008 Officials with the Anamosa Police Department report Vivian "Maxine" Preston, 87 of Anamosa, was killed yesterday, Saturday, July 12, after a semitrailer truck collided with her car northeast of Anamosa. The semi was heading south on Highway 151 approaching Old Dubuque Road at about 8:40 a.m. Saturday morning when the vehicle driven by Preston entered the roadway, eastbound from the stop sign on Old Dubuque Road. The semi was unable to stop in time and struck the car broadside on the driver's side. Arrangements for Preston are pending with Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa.
