FEMA Registration Deadline Extended Posted 11 July 2008 Federal officials have granted a request from Iowa Governor Chet Culver to extend the filing deadlines to apply for emergency government assistance. FEMA extended the deadline for individual assistance by 60 days to Sept. 27, 2008.   Culver made the formal request for the extension last week. The change will allow additional time for those Iowans affected by flooding and severe weather to apply for assistance.
