Possible Drowning near Waubeek Posted 6 July 2008 Officers with the Linn County Sheriff's Office pulled a body from the Wapsipinicon River about two miles south of Waubeek at about 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon, Saturday, July 5.   Authorities are now  investigating the incident as a possible drowning. The identity if the victim has not yet been released, as positive identification and notification of family was pending. Linn County sheriff's deputies and rescue, Linn County Conservation officers, North Linn Ambulance Service and the Central City Fire Department all responded and assisted at the scene.
