Judge Appointed to Court of Appeals Posted 5 July 2008 Gov. Chet Culver earlier this week appointed Sixth Judicial District Judge Amanda Potterfield, 60, of Tiffin, to the Iowa Court of Appeals. Potterfield will fill the vacancy created when Culver appointed Judge David Baker to the Iowa Supreme Court in March. Potterfield has been a judge in Iowa's Sixth District since her appointment in 2001. Her primary areas of practice have been trial law, criminal defense and family law.
