Marion
Man Selected for Supervisor Race
Posted 26 June 2008
Brent Oleson, 37, of Marion, was selected by Linn County
Republicans at a special convention Tuesday night, June 24, to replace
Sen. Mary Lundby in the November election.
Lundby, the party's initial candidate, dropped out of the race for
District 4 Linn County supervisor after discovering her cancer had
returned.
Linn County Republican Chairman Jim Conklin said Jim Greif of
Prairieburg also was a candidate for the nomination.
Oleson is the assistant to Senate Minority Leader Ron Wieck of Sioux
City and will face Central City Mayor Don Gray, a Democrat, in the
November election for the supervisor seat.
