Many
Attend Community Prayer Service
Posted 25 June 2008
A large crowd with people from a variety of faiths joined together last
night, Tuesday, June 24, at Veterans Memorial Stadium to pray, sing,
mourn and celebrate community spirit following recent floods.
The multi-faith prayer service was organized to let victims, friends
and volunteers join together to pray for strength. It is hoped the
event provided comfort for the community as the recovery and rebuilding
process begins.
Worship leaders from many faiths — including Christians, Jews,
Buddhists and Muslims — offered words of prayer and encouragement.
