What
Does
the
Future
Really Hold?
Posted 15 July 2010
Wouldn’t it be easier
to find new opportunities and new market niches if we only had a
crystal ball in which to gaze upon the future? How will changes in your
community (or lack of) affect the way you do business in the near and
distant future? While we don’t claim to have a crystal ball, next week
we are very pleased to host internationally recognized futurist Rick
Smyre for a special presentation at noon on Thursday, July 15. Mr.
Smyre will highlight innovative concepts, methods and techniques for
effective entrepreneurship in the communities of the future!
Rick Smyre is President of the Center for Communities of the Future
(www.communitiesofthefuture.org), an evolving network of people and
organizations throughout the and other countries that are working in
collaboration to develop new concepts of governance, economic
development, leadership, and education/learning for a fast-paced,
interconnected, and increasingly complex society. He is the past
Chairman of the Board of the American Association of Retirement
Communities and has been on the staff of the National Economic
Development Institute for twelve years. The focus of his work is to
develop “capacities for transformation” in the thinking and activities
of citizen leaders in local communities – especially in rural areas.
