Concrete patching work on Iowa 13 between Linn County Road E-16 near
Central City and Linn County Road D-47 one mile north of Coggon, will
cause traffic to be restricted to one lane in alternating directions
through the work zone from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays starting Monday,
Aug. 23, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of
Transportation’s (DOT) Manchester construction office.
Motorists will be guided through the work zone by flaggers. Also, an
11-foot width lane restriction will be in place. The project is
expected to be completed Sept. 10.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed
limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines
for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work
zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles
and wear seat belts.
